I’ve confirmed an initial tip that William Pierce, who is working for the campaign of Anthony Brown and Ken Ulman, previously worked for the 2012 GOP presidential campaign of Buddy Roemer.
Here’s what the Providence Journal said about Pierce and Roemer in August 2011:
William Pierce III, a Warwick resident who ran unsuccessfully for state representative as a candidate for the state’s fledgling Moderate Party last year, is director of scheduling and advance for the presidential campaign of Charles Elson “Buddy” Roemer III, a former U.S. Congressman and Louisiana governor.
Pierce was one of the early Democrats to join the Moderate Party, founded by businessman Kenneth J. Block. He not only ran for the House District 20 seat that ultimately went to Democrat David A. Bennett, but also served as a full-time staffer for the Moderate Party.
Before his affiliation with the Moderates, Pierce had been a member of the board of directors of the R.I. Young Democrats.
