Is Congressman John Delaney considering a run for MD Governor?

Front Line State reports on the possibility:

Congressman John Delaney’s name has become associated with the Maryland Governor’s race. All the Democrat hopefuls in the race enjoy a vastly superior financial position than the Republicans but in the Democratic primary, frontrunner Lt. Governor Anthony Brown is vulnerable after the Maryland health exchange rollout touted as his greatest achievement ended up being an embarrassing failure. His opponent Attorney General Doug Gansler has made his own missteps but has been on the attack. Delaney, as many pundits have pointed out, is wealthy enough to self finance his campaign and and he may be sensing blood in the water.

The albatross of Obamacare is hanging around his own neck in his race to get reelected to Congress in MD-6 and Delaney may be feeling the pressure from the energetic Dan Bongino campaign who is consistently attacking Delaney for continuing to support the failing program. Delaney may be seeing an opportunity to save his own political hide while jumping into a more powerful position.

The Washington Post reported on Delaney’s inclusion in the poll and the person behind the poll isn’t known. Delaney was recently named the 5th richest lawmaker in Washington. Neither Delaney or Bongino has actually filed yet with the State Board of Elections for the congressional race.
