Matthew Newman reports that Raymond Boccelli, who ran for Baltimore County Sheriff in 2010 as a Republican (and lost by 30,000 votes to Sheriff Jay Fisher) is running for the same office this year, but as a Democrat.
Here’s what Newman has to say about the move:
I’m disappointed when I see things like this. Instead of boldly trying for a rematch, Boccelli is hoping to win in a lower turnout primary than in the general and, with no other candidate running, replace Fisher. It’s a move I find cowardly and I hope to see a qualified Republican to challenge either of them int he general election.
