As I noted on February 7, Delegate Mike Hough was considering a Republican primary challenge to incumbent Senator David Brinkley. Brinkley, the Senate Minority Leader, represents District 4, as does Hough.
I am now hearing that Hough has asked to meet with Brinkley tomorrow to inform him that he is indeed running against him. Hough plans to officially announce sometime after that.
This leave incumbent delegates Kelly Schulz and Kathy Afzali running for re-election in the GOP primary. Additionally, Wendi Peters and David Vogt have officially announced as candidates. Ken Timmerman is said to be running as well. Peters has officially filed while Vogt has only set up his campaign organization to raise money so far.
