Two announced candidates still haven’t filed to run for Governor

As I previously noted, Charles Lollar and Ron George still don’t have a running mate. Lollar has been rejected by at least four different potential running mates. Additionally, at this time neither Lollar nor George has actually filed to run with the State Board of Elections (their list was last updated Tuesday night at 9:50.) Time is running out. The filing deadline is next Tuesday (2/25) at 9 p.m.

Will both of them find running mates and file for Governor before the deadline?

If I had to bet on either of them backing out and not actually running for Governor, I would bet on Lollar.

For reference, here’s the list of every gubernatorial candidate who has already filed (they all have running mates:)

  • Anthony Brown
  • Doug Gansler
  • Ralph Jaffe
  • Heather Mizeur
  • Charles Smith

  • David Craig
  • Larry Hogan
  • Brian Vaeth

  • Shawn Quinn
