MD drivers owe more than $14M in unpaid DC tickets for FY 2013

Dear Maryland drivers: Please pay your traffic tickets. We can’t believe we’re having this conversation again, but here we are.

In fiscal year 2013, residents from the Free State (ha!) didn’t pay citations totaling $15,436,354.30. That’s out of $72,399,878 total, including the $7,113,290.31 owed by D.C. residents, $6,990,414.15 owed by Virginia residents and $6,659,880.24 owed by residents of other jurisdictions.

DCist also points out than in FY2014 there are already $8.6 million in unpaid tickets owed by Maryland residents. Yet another reason for DC residents to complain about Marylanders.
