O’Malley: “More people are moving to Maryland”


The quote in the subject line above actually came from O’Malley this morning, and not the prankster pretending to be him. Of course, he made about as much sense in that reply when you look at the facts.

One of the questions Governor Martin O’Malley actually answered this morning on his reddit AMA was this one:

O’Malley, who chose not to answer a question someone asked about my post on 47% of Marylanders wanting to leave the state, said the following:

This opinion polling data tracks with actual migration state migration data.  According to the latest Rich States, Poor States report Maryland ranked 42nd in domestic migration with 123,674 residents leaving Maryland between 2003-2012.

According to the Tax Foundation, Maryland ranks 43rd in the nation personal income migration losing $5.5 billion in personal income between 2000-2010.
