Maryland ranked 7th worst state to retire in

maryland-flag reported Monday:

There is a new report out this morning about the worst states to retire and Maryland has made the top ten list. lists Maryland at 7th place in a tie with Vermont.

Maryland’s high costs of living and high state and local taxes are some of the reasons for it’s poor ranking.

Maryland’s crime rate also is worse than the national average, and Vermont’s weather could be tough on a lot of retirees. The worst state in which to retire New York.

This was released the same day Governor Martin O’Malley made the demonstrably false claim in his trainwreck of a Reddit AMA that more people are moving to Maryland than out of it. Last week, I noted a new poll that 47% of Maryland residents would leave if they could.
