Earlier today, Benny Johnson made the following tweet about Donald Trump and Ben Carson:
Carson staffer: “If I had to guess, I’d say Trump is blowing up Ben’s phone now. He called regularly & often, offering rides in the plane.”

Donald Trump had previously compared Ben Carson to a child molester and they had the awkward moment together at the beginning of a debate pictured at the top of this post. Trump also questioned Carson’s religion.
Otherwise, Trump was often deferential to Carson during debates.
Donald Trump and Ben Carson could be running mates?
Last month, on the day of the New Hampshire primary, Carson told Neil Cavuto that he was open to being Trump’s vice presidential candidate.
Johnson later today talked to a Carson staffer who said the neurosurgeon would have “no major problem” being Trump’s running mate.
Johnson also reports that Cruz and Carson joining forces would be “unlikely” due to bad blood lingering from the night of the Iowa Caucuses.
